Best Units in The Noob Experiment TD

This guide explains which NETD units to prioritize, how to acquire them, and how to assemble boards that survive Roblox HQ, quest clears, and endless pressure. Everything here refers to The Noob Experiment TD by Tower Defense Games (beta), with crates up through Godly, crafting, titans, and Ultimate lines. It deliberately excludes unit names from Vitan Games’ Noob Tower Defense and other look-alike experiences.

Remember the controls while you theory-craft: E upgrades, X removes. Co-op scales difficulty for better rewards, so “best unit” also means “best role for your seat in the lobby.”

Priority Framework

Before chasing thumbnails, rank needs in this order:

  1. Survive early waves with basic Noob, Guest, and Builder starters
  2. Lock economy with Chief Scientist Guest (or the best farmer you own)
  3. Add specialty DPS/CC such as Juggernaut Boombox (SoundWave)
  4. Promote to high end — Titans (Titan Noob, Titan Guest, Astro Titan Noob, and related showcase variants) and Ultimates (Ultimate Noob, Ultimate Guest, Ultimate Builder, Ultimate BrickBattler)
  5. Fill theme gaps with BrickBattler, Mecha variants, Guest 666–style event units, and targeted craft outcomes

A Godly Titan that never gets upgraded loses to a fully upgraded Boombox covering the real chokepoint.

S-Tier Goals (Build Around These)

Juggernaut Boombox

Official crate notes advertise Juggernaut Boombox with the SoundWave ability. In practice that makes it a top specialty pick for packed lanes and maps where enemies stack. Place it where path geometry creates clumps, upgrade early with E, and keep a farmer funding those levels. This is a NETD crate unit — not a generic “Juggernaut carry” copied from another TD.

Titan Noob / Titan Guest / Astro Titan Noob

Creator update showcases highlight Titan remodel/rework work and named pieces such as Astro Titan Noob and combat-flavored Titans (for example Sword Titan Noob in award/showcase coverage). Treat the Titan family as your late-game ceiling for bosses and endless HP ramps. Acquisition is intentionally rare: climb crate tiers, finish daily/weekly quests, and craft when recipes open instead of expecting every session to drop one.

Ultimate Noob, Ultimate Guest, Ultimate Builder, Ultimate BrickBattler

Ultimates shipped as a named feature set. They are the crafted identity upgrades of the four core themes. Pick the Ultimate that patches your weakest role — Builder-leaning boards for sustain/structure feel, BrickBattler for combat pressure, Noob/Guest for flexible generalist power — rather than crafting duplicates you cannot afford to place.

Guest-update footage helps compare how Guest-line power and modes look before you burn craft materials:

A-Tier Workhorses

Chief Scientist Guest

Called out in live game notes as a leading farmer. Best units lists that ignore economy are incomplete — this farmer often decides whether you can afford Titan upgrades at all. Place safely, upgrade income, and never sell it for a marginal DPS body unless a better farmer is already online.

BrickBattler (and Ultimate BrickBattler)

BrickBattler is a native NETD combat theme, not a borrowed tower name. Use the base line as mid-game DPS; invest crafts into Ultimate BrickBattler when you need a dedicated carry without waiting on Titan RNG.

Mecha Variants

Mecha-styled Noob/Guest units appear throughout update tours as mechanical firepower options. They bridge the gap between upgraded starters and true Titans. Keep them relevant by funneling cash into E upgrades instead of littering the path with unleveled Mechas.

Upgraded Noob / Guest / Builder Lines

These starters remain “best units” for their job: cheap coverage and craft feedstock. An upgraded Guest on a long curve can outperform a neglected rare sitting on a bad tile.

Starter Bench (Know When to Sell)

Unit familyBest useSell when…
Basic NoobWave 1–10 lane holdA Mecha, BrickBattler, Boombox, or Titan takes the tile
Basic GuestSecond lane / balanced early DPSFarmer + stronger DPS are funded
Builder startersCheap third body / craft pathUltimate Builder or better supports arrive

Use X without guilt. Holding sentimental commons through wave 40 is how boards starve.

Economy Ranking

  1. Chief Scientist Guest — current headline farmer from crate notes
  2. Guest-leaning economy options and safe Builder variants
  3. Extra farmers in co-op when one player specializes in income

Economy tips that actually matter:

  • Second or third placement should often be a farmer, not a fourth DPS
  • Farmers sit behind DPS so leaks do not delete your income
  • Stack farmers for endless and hardcore modifiers instead of all-in carries
  • Codes and quests accelerate crate climbs that unlock better farmers and Godly odds — see Codes

High-End and Theme Coverage

Titans

Prioritize obtaining any solid Titan, then specialize. Titan Guest and Titan Noob cover core fantasy; Astro Titan Noob and sword-themed Titans show how cosmetic/combat variants still sit in the same high-end band. Protect tiles; replace overlapping weak towers with X.

Ultimates via Crafting

Route swords, jetpacks, headphones, rockets, lasers, armor cores, and energy materials toward one complete Ultimate before starting a second. Details live in the Crafting Guide.

Event-Style Units (Guest 666 and Friends)

Limited and series-inspired units can spike a board for a patch cycle. Evaluate them after each Scientist roadmap drop; do not freeze your tier thinking around a single event pull.

Mecha + BrickBattler Synergy

A practical mid-late board is farmer + Mecha or BrickBattler DPS + Boombox SoundWave on the densest tile, with a Titan/Ultimate replacing the weakest DPS when luck arrives.

Example Compositions

Early (learning Roblox HQ pathing)

  1. Noob + Guest starters on the first two bends
  2. Chief Scientist Guest (or best farmer) behind them
  3. Upgrade the unit that sees the most path time

Mid (quests and Normal/Hard clears)

  1. BrickBattler or Mecha as primary DPS
  2. Two income sources if possible
  3. Juggernaut Boombox covering the clump
  4. Sell leftover starters

Late / Endless / co-op

  1. Titan and/or Ultimate anchors
  2. Upgraded Chief Scientist Guest still alive
  3. SoundWave coverage for dense spawns
  4. Role callouts in chat: who farms, who carries — co-op HP scaling punishes four players all placing duplicate DPS

Acquisition Roadmap

  • Level rewards — climb crate quality toward Godly
  • Daily/weekly quests — buffed rewards make consistent clears better than spam-opening bad crates
  • Codes — Screws into summons; verify codes on this wiki, not random gem-code lists
  • Crafting — convert surplus into Ultimates and targeted outcomes
  • Creator showcases — use verified NETD videos to recognize unit models; never copy loadouts from the wrong game

Mistakes That Waste Best Units

  • Building a “meta board” with unit names from a different Noob TD
  • Skipping farmers because a Titan thumbnail looked cooler
  • Leaving starters on premium tiles after better units drop
  • Ignoring E upgrades so a rare unit fights at base stats
  • Solo habits in co-op lobbies (no farmer seat while difficulty scales up)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the single best unit right now?
A: There is no universal one-slot answer. For economy, Chief Scientist Guest. For specialty wave clear, Juggernaut Boombox. For ceiling DPS, Titans and Ultimates. Boards need at least one of each role category.

Q: Can I clear content without Titans?
A: Yes. Upgraded BrickBattler/Mecha lines plus Boombox and a strong farmer clear most quest and map goals. Titans speed up endless and prestige clears.

Q: Should beginners craft Ultimates immediately?
A: Only after a farmer exists and you understand recipes. Wasting rare energies on the wrong Ultimate slows the account more than waiting a few quest cycles.

Q: Are starter Noob/Guest/Builder units bad?
A: They are excellent early and as craft bases. They are bad only when you refuse to sell them after better tools arrive.

Q: How often will this list change?
A: Whenever crates, Scientist roadmap content, or major rebalances land. Check the updated field and the Updates hub.
