The Noob Experiment TD Tier List

This tier list is for The Noob Experiment TD (NETD) by Tower Defense Games — the Roblox beta tower defense experience inspired by Flippidee’s Noob Experiment series. It is not a guide for Vitan Games’ Noob Tower Defense or for Battlefront-style spinoffs. If a video or Discord tip mentions gems/coins economies or unit names from a different title, discard it and come back here.

NETD’s live loop is crate summons (climbing toward Godly as you level), crafting, daily/weekly quests, map clears including Roblox HQ, and co-op that scales difficulty for better rewards. Controls stay simple: E upgrades the selected unit, X removes it. Rankings below follow roles that show up in the official description and verified creator showcases, not invented DPS spreadsheets.

How to Read This List

Beta balance moves often. Treat tiers as priority bands:

  • S-tier — chase when crates or crafts finally drop them; build boards around them.
  • A-tier — reliable specialty DPS, farmers, and mid-board anchors.
  • B-tier / starters — keep you alive while economy and crate luck catch up.
  • High-end families — Titans, Ultimates, Mecha, BrickBattler, and event-flavored units such as Guest 666–style pulls.

Placement always beats raw rarity. A mid crate unit on a chokepoint with upgrades beats an idle Titan in a dead corner.

S-Tier Priority (Meta Goals)

Juggernaut Boombox

  • Role: Specialty DPS / crowd control
  • Signature: SoundWave ability called out in the latest crate notes
  • Why: Officially highlighted as a new crate unit; SoundWave helps when paths clog on maps like Roblox HQ
  • Tips: Place where packs bunch, then feed upgrades with E. Do not confuse this NETD crate unit with unrelated “Juggernaut” carries from other Roblox TDs

Titan Family

  • Examples from update coverage: Titan Noob, Titan Guest, Astro Titan Noob, plus combat variants such as Sword Titan Noob when they appear in showcases
  • Role: High-end single-target and late-wave anchors
  • Why: Titans are the prestige ceiling of the crate/craft ladder and define endless and hardcore pushes
  • Tips: Protect placement spots; sell weaker towers with X once a Titan is online so cash flows into upgrades

Ultimate Line

  • Units: Ultimate Noob, Ultimate Guest, Ultimate Builder, Ultimate BrickBattler
  • Role: Crafted power spikes across familiar themes
  • Why: Ultimates were shipped as a named feature set; they turn base Noob/Guest/Builder/BrickBattler identities into late-game pieces
  • Tips: Route crafting materials toward the Ultimate that matches your board holes (economy-adjacent Builder, combat BrickBattler, flexible Noob/Guest)

Watch a real NETD session so lobby flow, crate UI, and placement pacing match what you will see in-game:

A-Tier Units (Strong / Reliable)

Chief Scientist Guest

  • Role: Economy / farmer
  • Why: Official crate notes call this out as one of the best farmers currently available
  • Tips: Place early, keep it safe behind DPS, and upgrade income before greed-buying every shiny crate unit

BrickBattler Line

  • Role: Combat-focused mid-to-high DPS with a classic Roblox combat flavor
  • Why: Appears both as a normal progression theme and as Ultimate BrickBattler
  • Tips: Use as a bridge carry when Titans/Ultimates are still dry

Mecha Variants

  • Role: Mechanical firepower and thematic mid/late DPS
  • Why: Creator update tours regularly showcase Mecha-styled Noob/Guest units alongside Titan reworks
  • Tips: Pair Mecha DPS with a living farmer so you can afford upgrade chains

Strong Guest / Noob / Builder Progressions

  • Role: Flexible board fillers that scale through upgrades and crafts
  • Why: These three lines are the identity of NETD; almost every crate ladder step and Ultimate path starts here
  • Tips: Prefer upgraded copies on good tiles over spreading cash across six underleveled towers

B-Tier and Starters

Basic Noob

Cheap early defense. Holds the first packs while you scout chokepoints on new maps.

Basic Guest

Balanced early attacker. Often the second placement after a Noob when you need a second lane cover.

Builder Line

Supportive / constructive themed starters that feed into Builder crafts and Ultimate Builder. Useful when your board needs a third cheap body before the farmer arrives.

Early Crate Commons

Anything that fills hotbar slots before Godly odds matter. Sell with X the moment a better specialty unit or farmer is ready.

Economy First, Always

Skipping farmers is the fastest way to brick mid-game. Priority order for most runs:

  1. Chief Scientist Guest when owned
  2. Other Guest-leaning economy options and safe Builder variants
  3. Only then stack specialty DPS such as Juggernaut Boombox or Titan/Ultimate carries

Upgrade farmers. Dead farmers on Roblox HQ or endless waves stall the entire board.

High-End Families Beyond a Single Carry

Titans

Chase Titan Noob / Titan Guest / Astro Titan Noob–class units through higher crate tiers and crafts. They are rare on purpose; account level and quest completion raise your odds more than panic-spending.

Ultimates

Craft when recipes and energies line up. Ultimate Noob / Guest / Builder / BrickBattler cover different board roles — do not force four Ultimates if one complete Ultimate plus a farmer clears your current quests.

Event and Theme Units

Guest 666–style and other event-flavored units show up around limited drops and series themes. Treat them as situational power, then re-evaluate after the next Scientist-focused patch.

Craft Outcomes

Crafting turns surplus materials into targeted upgrades instead of pure RNG. See the Crafting Guide before dumping rare energies into vanity crafts.

Team Templates

Early Game

  1. Basic Noob / Guest / Builder starters
  2. Farmer (Chief Scientist Guest if available)
  3. Hold chokepoints; upgrade with E

Mid Game

  1. BrickBattler or Mecha DPS
  2. Two farmers if cash allows
  3. Juggernaut Boombox on pack lanes when SoundWave value is high

Late Game / Endless

  1. Titan and/or Ultimate anchors
  2. Upgraded farmers still alive
  3. Specialty CC (Boombox SoundWave) covering clump tiles
  4. Co-op role split: one player owns economy, others own carries — remember co-op scales difficulty for better rewards

Meta Notes for Beta

  • New crates (Boombox + Chief Scientist Guest) already shifted economy and wave-clear priorities
  • Roblox HQ rewards players who relearn pathing instead of copying old map boards
  • Quest buffs make daily/weekly clears a better source of progression than endless bad crates
  • Upcoming Scientist update will likely shuffle farmer and support value again — check the updated date on this page

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I chase first from crates?
A: A real farmer (Chief Scientist Guest), then specialty DPS like Juggernaut Boombox, then Titans/Ultimates. Starters keep you alive; they are not the endgame chase.

Q: Are Noob, Guest, and Builder still worth using?
A: Yes for early waves and as craft bases toward Ultimates. Upgrade them with E; sell with X when a higher rarity occupies the same tile better.

Q: Do I need every Titan?
A: No. One well-upgraded Titan or Ultimate plus healthy economy clears most quest and map goals. Collecting every showcase variant is optional flex.

Q: Solo or co-op for ranking up crates?
A: Co-op is harder but pays better. Coordinate farmers vs DPS so scaled HP does not overwhelm an all-carry lobby.

Q: How is this different from other Noob TD games?
A: NETD uses Screws/crates/crafting, E/X controls, Godly crate progression, and Tower Defense Games as developer. Ignore unit names from unrelated titles.
